Here we show how you can make a lanyard / card holder or a mobile holder with beads.
You can adjust the length according to your own wishes, whether you want to wear the band around your neck or prefer a shorter pendant for your mobile.
You will need:
• silicone or wooden beads in the design and colors you want
• polyester cord, about 1m
• a hook or ring for the end
• scissors and a lighter
(• optional a mobile holder, clip, or key ring)
Take out lighters and scissors as well as beads, string, and hooks.
Start by gently melting the ends of the cord with a lighter and roll them between your fingers. This will give you a tip like a needle. Be careful! It is hot!
Place a larch head around the hook or the finish you have chosen. The ends of the cord should be of equal length.
Place a bead in front of it on both threads.
Now you separate the threads and continue with the chain on both sides.
Continue until all the beads are on the chain and you have the length you desire.
Now you tie a simple knot between the ends.
Tie firmly! The silicone beads are soft and you can squeeze them a little.
Tie another knot over the first one.
Tighten that one as well. You can use two fingers to tighten the first knot while you tighten the second.
Tighten firmly!
Cut the end about 5mm from the knot and carefully melt the end with a lighter. It should not catch fire!
Press the melted piece firmly against the knot with the lighter's metal part while it is still soft. This is how you seal your knot.
Do the same with the other end. Cut 5mm from the knot, melt carefully!
Press the melted piece firmly against the knot with the lighter's metal part.
Now you have a secure knot that will not come undone! Now pull a silicone bead over the knot.
It feels difficult but it works! Silicone beads are soft enough that you can pull it over the knot to hide it.
Now your cardholder is ready!
